Upcycled Pallets – Dad’s DIY Project, Inspires Woodwork

Nicole Make it. Fix it. Do it Yourself.

If any of you have a Pintrest account there is no doubt that you’ve come across a gazillion pins on upcycled pallets that have been made into furniture, storage, decor for home or garden… the list goes on and on… Anything you could possibly imagine it can probably be done!

And yes I am totally addicted to collecting DIY tips and tutorials to upcycle pallets. However with the lack of space in our apartment, actually trying any of these projects will have to be put on the back burner for a little longer. Until we have a backyard and neighbours who are further away, I’ll have to wait to test drive these ideas I’m collecting on my Pintrest Board:

You can imagine how excited I was when I walked into my parents house, and sitting in the patio, was a pile of pallets and my Dad’s work in progress projects. Seeing this made me squeal with excitement and I won’t lie there was a small pang of jealousy that came over me too 😉

The thing to note here is that my Dad is not on Pintrest and doesn’t follow my board… (Well not yet anyways, maybe after this post) So it was inspiring to see what he was making and how he was going about doing it – Proper old school! It made me want to do get out a saw and work on something of my own! I guess no matter how old I get my parents will still inspire me.

The project he managed to complete while I was home was a Toothbrush and Shaver Stand perfect for 2 electric toothbrushes and hand shaver. He even created a write-up of  how he made it 🙂
